Soon-to-be big brothers and sisters between 3 and 12 years old will learn about new babies, their new role as a big brother or sister and how they can help at home. A tour of the labor and delivery unit will help ease their apprehension about the big day.
This fun and interactive class introduces brothers and sisters to the change they can expect when their sibling is born. They will learn how to feed, rock, change diapers, and hold the newborn. Children may bring their favorite doll or toy for a diaper demo.
This Class will be held in the main building of the Spartanburg Medical Center in the Two Tower Classroom
We recommend the class for first time siblings (only child) from ages 3-12 years old. Younger children should attend toward the end of mother's pregnancy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Your child/children will watch a video, discuss role of big brother/sister and life with new baby, practice diaper change and safe ways to hold a baby and tour a room on Mother-Baby area. This helps prepare them for the birth and new role of big brother/sister
