SRHS's E. G. “Nick” Ulmer, Jr., M.D. at the SEPAS Symposium.

SRHS Hosts 3rd Annual Southeast Physician Advisor Symposium

On January 22-24, at the Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville, Spartanburg Regional Health Care System will host over 120 attendees from 30 healthcare systems across 14 states at the 3rd Annual Southeast Physician Advisor Symposium: Empowering the Physician Advisor Team with Strategies for Success.

The Southeast Physician Advisor Symposium is the only non-profit, academic symposium in the nation that focuses on the role of the Physician Advisor and their impact on healthcare delivery.

Initially conceived as a way for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System to educate its own physician advisors in 2012, Spartanburg Regional soon discovered that the need for education, best practice metrics and strategies for success in our ever changing healthcare environment extended far beyond the Upstate.

The Southeast Physician Advisor Symposium brings together thought leaders from across the nation to educate physicians, hospital executives and administrators on topics that highlight evolving nature of healthcare delivery such as; Accountable Care Organizations, care transitions, observation medicine, clinical documentation integrity and the Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System.

Each year the faculty consists of nationally renowned physician leaders from across the United States. This year we are very excited to have the following join E. G. “Nick” Ulmer, Jr., MD, FAAFP, CPC of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in leading the discussions:

  • Eric Coleman, MD, MPH of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

  • Christopher Baugh, MD, MBA of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts

  • Jeffery Farber, MD, MBA of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York

  • Nabil E. Khoury, MD, FACEP, FACP of Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan

  • Pamela Foster, APSW, MBA, ACM of the Mayo Clinic Health System

Attendees come from healthcare systems across the southeast and the country to network, learn and share strategies for providing the utmost in quality patient-centered care while successfully navigating today’s detour filled regulatory landscape.
