Ulmer appointed president of healthcare consortium
Nick Ulmer, Jr., MD, Vice President, Clinical Services, Medical Group of the Carolinas, was recently appointed to serve as president of the Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control (COSEHC), Cardiovascular Centers of ExcellenceTM (CV Centers.)
His term of office began January 1. As a member of the COSEHC Board of Directors, Dr. Ulmer will represent, coordinate and lead the 32 Cardiovascular Centers of Excellence™ community-based primary care and academic center network located throughout the Southeastern United States. Together with COSEHC, these Centers of Excellence carry out the strategies of the organization by creating partnerships with local health care providers, managed care organizations, public health officials, consumers, insurers and employers. The Centers and a number of other regionally based primary care practices regularly submit clinical data on patient management and outcomes to the COSEHC electronic patient registry database creating a network of best practices.
COSEHC is a 501c3 non-profit voluntary professional healthcare education and research organization that is accredited with Commendation to provide Category 1 physician CME, COSEHC has a long history of providing education, translational basic-clinical research and process improvement to equip primary care practices with evidence-based care delivery and performance techniques.
