SRHS Brings Innovative Health Care to the Westside
People who need immediate medical treatment can now find easily accessible high quality health care in a new innovative setting. Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) is transforming the former Piccadilly Cafeteria into an immediate care center on the westside of Spartanburg.
Located at 151 Peachwood Centre Drive in Spartanburg, Immediate Care Center—Westside, opening this spring, will offer patients walk-in medical care with the quality they’d expect from a traditional doctor’s office. Open seven days per week with extended hours, Immediate Care Center—Westside will be all about convenience.
"One of the main advantages of the new Immediate Care Center is that it brings together the best elements from both a traditional doctor’s office and an urgent care clinic,” said Nick Ulmer, Jr., M.D., Vice President of Clinical Services and Director of Case Management at SRHS.
Staffed by three physicians and two nurse practitioners, the 9,000-square-foot facility will house nine exam rooms and a community education room.
Immediate Care Center—Westside will serve patients of all ages, and offer treatments for a wide range of illnesses and injuries such as sprains and fractures, cuts and lacerations, eye injuries, rashes and burns, cold and flu symptoms, animal and insect bites, ear infections, sore throats and more. In addition, a community education room is also available for interactive sessions on topics ranging from nutrition to diabetes.
With the opening of Immediate Care—Westside, SRHS will have two Immediate Care facilities on either side of the county. In April 2013, Immediate Care Center—Eastside opened at 1200 East Main Street.
To receive care at the new facility, patients may walk in or make an appointment by calling 864-560-9260. Patients can even schedule appointments with a specific physician, and establish an Immediate Care Center doctor as their primary care physician. The appointment scheduling team is available 24 hours a day.
